I need reliable stuff for a long route but don%26#039;t want to spend too much on them. Alternatively looking for hiking specialist on sale.

Reply:I am an outdoor instructor based in Scotland, there are lots of shops that sell boots and other outdoor products but I always buy on-line. It is cheaper.





I suggest you go to blacks or millets or similar, try on a pair of Scarpa SLm3, go back home onto the net and purchase the right size. There are lots of websites were you can purchase everything you need in one go, you just need to find the cheapest.





I cant stress the importance for going to the shops and trying them on. As for socks to wear with the boots, I suggest the Smartwool mountain sock. With this combination it will feel like walking on candy floss.





I hope this is of some help. Oh yer, make sure you break the boot in before you go on any long walks. The Scarpa SLm3%26#039;s do not take long to break in.
